Jan Heylen finishes an unlucky 13th at his home Champ Car Grand Prix (AP)

By MIKE CORDER, Associated Press Writer

August 26, 2007

ZOLDER, Belgium (AP) — Jan Heylen finished 13th at his home Champ Car Grand Prix. The number was fitting for a race that seemed jinxed from the outset for the Belgian driver.

His first trip to the Zolder track Friday lasted just seconds before his Conquest Racing car was badly damaged in a four-car crash caused by English driver Dan Clarke.

The official, and unfortunate in Japanese, brochure of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X has leaked over the internet. A lucky member of the Lancer Register forum got his hands on the brochure and has published some scanned pages of it. We’re still in luck though. The performance figures are in European numbers and here they are: - Power: 206 kW (280 ps - around 276 hp) at 6500 rpm - max torque: 422 Nm (43.0 kgm) at 3500 rpm Does anyone speak Japanese? We would really like to translate this Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X brochure. (Continuation content ‘Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X brochure leaked’…)

Davis reveals Villeneuve Cup plans

By Diego Mejia Saturday, August 25th 2007, 20:12 GMT

NASCAR team owner Bill Davis has confirmed that Jacques Villeneuve will be one of his squad’s Nextel Cup drivers next year and could already enter a Nextel Cup race this season.

Villeneuve announced yesterday that he will be testing a Toyota Tundra NASCAR truck at Chicagoland on Monday for Bill Davis Racing.

And Davis himself revealed today in an exclusive interview with autosport.com that the Canadian will be making his NASCAR debut on 22 September at Las Vegas in the Craftsman Truck Series.

Davis said he has signed Villeneuve on a long-term contract after making contact with him a couple of weeks ago.

And he now confirms that former Formula One world champion will also take part in seven Craftsman races this season, to get him ready for a possible Nextel Cup debut at the end of the year.

“He’ll be testing the next two, three weeks and his first truck race will be at Las Vegas in about three or four weeks,” Davis told autosport.com.

“Then he runs seven truck races, and one ARCA race at Talladega for sure.
